Socrates once said, “The unexamined life is not worth living”. Over-thinking is a good thing if it leads you to self-reflection.
On my struggle to survive in the world of the grown-ups, I have put together ways that helped me deal with “life”. Here they are:
#1. Be consistent
Avoid emotional extremities and maintain self-control.
#2. Don’t be self-absorbed
It is not always about you. Always consider other people’s feelings and situation.
#3. Don’t let your ego rule
As much as possible, take away your pride and be humble. It will save you from a lot of trouble.
#4. Don’t judge
Matthew 7:2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
#5. Be mindful in everything you do
Always put into mind whatever it is that you’re doing. This will save you from making mistakes.
#6. Tame your tongue
Matthew 12:37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.
#7. Be kind… all the time!
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. Most importantly, be kind to yourself because you’ve been fighting too hard already.
#8. Discipline yourself
No one else can take care of yourself better than you can. Practice good habits all the time.
#9. Focus on one thing at a time
Oftentimes, a lot of things need to be done at such a short time. Don’t degrade the quality of your work by trying to finish them altogether. Focus on one thing and give your best shot. There’s always time for everything.
Above all, never ever forget to pray. Believe me, it’s the most effective way to keep troubles away!
Want to add something? I’d be glad to hear it. Let’s all live a life that’s TROUBLE-FREE!
